204: Liverpool into semi final

31 December 2029
Liverpool, England

Liverpool have take a step towards winning their third consecutive Capital One Cup with a convincing win over Chelsea. They now face off against Reading who the beat in the Capital One Cup final two seasons ago.

Mr BadDragon has often raised eyebrows with his insistance that the Capital One Cup is a competition that should be taken more seriously by clubs and fans alike. In his words “It is a trophy in the cabinet after all!”

We had a ding dong battle with league leaders Chelsea and managed to win a seven goal thriller by the odd goal. We have dropped back to third place in the league following our Club World Cup involvement, and we all know how strong Manchester United can be  when they get their noses in front.

Blow by Blow

F.A. Cup 3rd Round Draw

We draw Brentford in the third round of the cup.

Champions League Results

Valencia v PSG and Porto v Real Madrid were the two top games in this round.

Anderlecht slaughtered PSV while Hajduk Split overcame Lazio in injury time.

Champions League Group Standings

Valencia’s defeat saw them finish bottom in group A. There were no other major upsets and most of the top teams advance.

Capital One Cup – 5th Round

This is a big game. I am faced with a difficult decision. Just how important is this competition to us?

In the end I opt for a strong side with a couple of adjustments to freshen up the side.

Well this was a great ding dong battle. In the end we triumphed by the odd goal.

Capital One Cup – Semi final draw

Reading are our next opponents in the Capital One Cup.

Champions League – 1st Knockout Draw

We draw FC Basel in the first knockout round of the Champions League.

Premier League – Match 15/38

As fate would have it we get to face Reading in the League next match up.

“Ingvar” makes his return to the bench for this clash. I have some tired legs in the side but we are getting back to full fitness.

We put in a solid performance and ran out comfortable winners. “Diogo” had a good game, while “Hero” started to show that he has recovered his touch.

Premier League – Match 16/38

Next up are Westham United. The Hammers are sitting in mid table and we should have the edge in this match.

This match sees “Mookee”, “Tan”, and “Lazar” return following injury.

We put in a good shift and while West Ham took the game to us at times we were always in control.

Premier League – Match 17/38

Tottenham are propping up the league and are battling against relegation. It is my intention to not make their life any easier.

“Tan”, “Lazar”, and “Mookee” are rotated due to not being fully back to fitness.

“Naret” scored in 18 seconds and then again four minutes later. We were in control from that point forward although we should really have scored more.

Results Summary

Another four good results, including the goal bonanza which was the Capital One Cup quarter final.

League Table

We have dropped to third place due to the Club World Cup. If we win both of the games in hand we will be hard on Chelsea’s heels.

Next Episode

2030 will kick off with the F.A. Cup, Capital One Cup Semi final and some more league games.
