Liverpool advanced to their second Capital One Cup final in a row with a solid victory at Anfield. The Reds were dominant although it took two penalties to get the job done. In the end the result was comfortable and they are through.
They have suffered a worrying injury crisis with “Hero” out for three months and “Naert” out for 3 weeks. Mr BadDragon is fortunate that this has happened during the international break. It will be interesting to see what he decides to do to address the problem.

Into a final and hampered by injury. I have some serious decisions to make here. The market is particularly bare for prove goal scorers. Luckily I have plenty of cash in the bank.
Blow by Blow
Capital One Cup – Semi-final – Leg 2
Chelsea opened a can of whoop ass on us in the Champions League Semi-final last season. This will not be allowed to happen again.
We have a couple of tired legs on the park. That being said this is an important game for us.
A strange game. Chelsea came at us hard and this time we stopped them scoring. We took control and lead through two first half penalties. In the end Hero completed his hat-trick and we are through to the final.
F.A.Cup Fourth Round Draw
Not a bad draw considering we are struggling with fixture congestion. Not that these guys will be easy, but there are more challenging draws we could have got.
Capital One Final Draw
Arsenal have knocked us out of this competition twice. It would be nice to win the final.
F.A. Cup – 4th Round
League 2 side Mansfield Town should not offer too much in the way of opposition to us. It will allow us to rest a number of our first team.
The team has a very young feel about it with “Zujo” and “Barto” making their debuts. We have a solid bench just in case things don’t go to plan.
As expected it was almost a no contest. “Naert” missed a penalty in the 2nd minute however it didn’t matter as we went on to score seven unanswered goals.
“Vince” moves to Arsenal
The sale of “Vince” to Arsenal is a good deal. He was only signed as a stop gap measure and when “K.A.A.” dropped back into the back four was surplus to requirements.
Premier League – Match 23/38
The foxes come to town. Over to us to ensure that the return of “Loz” is not a happy time for him.
“K.A.A” is off on international duty so “Ingvar” comes into the starting line-up.
Well we got a good win. The concern is that “Hero” and “Naert” both picked up knocks.
“Hero” is out for the business end of the season and will be a huge loss.
“Naert” is only out for a couple of weeks so not as bad. The problem being that my number three and four strikers are out on loan for the rest of the season.
Premier League – Match 24/38
To add insult to injury we have a series of games against some good sides. First of which is Chelsea.
“Tan” is pushed forward to play in the striker position with “Goose” taking his place in midfield. The cupboard is looking slightly bare in the central striker position.
We really missed our finishers and paid the price. I just hope we can avoid a damaging slide and turn things around.
A disappointing series of incidents sees us in a spot of bother.
The loss to Chelsea has seen the lead drop back to seven points, with a game in hand.
And it doesn’t get any easier with Manchester City, Swansea, Arsenal and Barcelona to come.
