Anderlecht managed to overcome the Cofidis Cup 7th round this season and find themselves in the Quarter Final. The relief was plain to see on Mr BadDragons face following Anderlechts unscheduled exit at this point last season.

He is right. I am relieved. I was always confident that we could get through and it was a shock when we slipped up last season. Still we have gotten through and now it is our task to advance further.
Blow by Blow
“Baby Face” has been on the radar for a couple of months. I should have made a move before he was selected for the national team as that would have saved me a cool million.
“Mookee” picks up a knock on international duty. At least it wasn’t a bad knock so it’s not that bad.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 15/30
Lokeren come to town and it is my solemn duty to ensure that while we are welcoming they do not have a good time.
Very much a second string line-up fielded today. While I want win this game, giving my fringe players some game time helps with development.
A very pleasing performance by the lads. It was made easier following a 24th minute red card which effectively removed the contest from the match.
Champions League – Group D – Match 5/6
Benfica are fighting hard to get out of the group stages. The need two wins and for Dynamo Kyiv to lose both matches to escape in second.
“Mookee” is not recovered from the knock, so “Lembi” comes in in his place. Other than that we have a full first choice team.
We put in an average performance in front of goal and it looked for a while like we were going to leave some points on the table. Luckily we bagged our third goal and held on to make it five from five.
Champions League Results
Galatasaray thumped Man City in spectacular fashion. Bayern Munich dropped another game and look unlikely to qualify. Barcelona got back into position to qualify.
Liverpool slipped up and allowed PSG to overtake them. Dortmund have come back and can possibly make the knockout phase. Real Madrid have woken up and look to get back into contention.
Champions League Groups
Group A and Group C are both wide open. The other groups have knock-out places up for grabs apart from Group H.
“C.K” is going to miss the next game due to suspension which is ok as the next game doesn’t mean all that much.
Not sure if he will make it in the side, however he is depth cover for the squad for a couple of seasons.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 16/30
We start the second run through of the division with a match against Standard de Liege.
We have a cup match mid week so we rest some players for that game. Being 14 points clear is a good situation.
A good result. “Xu” has a problem with one on one with the keeper on the break. Give him a snapshot and he is lethal!
Ok. So he hasn’t had enough games in the first team. Lets see. We have played 16 League games, two cup games and five champions league games.
Has played in roughly two thirds of the games…
… and second in minutes played!
“Munster” was on the fringe of the side, and was a converted winger playing central attacking midfield. He wasn’t getting game time and so I moved him out.
Cofidis Cup – 7th Round
This is where we went out last season. I have the top side on the park and am determined to get past this point!
Number one side fielded for this match.
It took a wee while to get the game under control. Two quick goals in the second half did the job and we were through.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 17/30
Back to the league and Club Brugge. We will be rotating the squad quite a bit due to a heavy month of fixtures.
Today’s team is selected based upon the most fit players starting.
That could have been a mistake, however it is only the second game we have not won this season.
Apart from the last fixture we had a good month. We were dynamite in front of goal and parsimonious in defence.
We have opened a good gap at the top of the table and are looking good.
The next episode sees us fighting on three fronts, with the final Champions league group game, Cup Quarter Final, and three league matches.
