Goyang, Korea
Five games played since the last update for two wins, two draws and a loss. Effectively eight points out of the possible fifteen, and yet we find ourselves still in 9th and four points behind Anyang.
There have been some positives, however our ability to hold onto leads has been worrying. This was hilighted in the Anyang match as we missed our chance to close the gap when they squeezed a late draw against us.
Results
Five games played since the last update for two wins, two draws and a loss. All in all I am happy with the start and can see some positives moving forward.
Changju Hummel v Goyang Hi F.C.
This was a good win first up against the mid table team. Two first half goals were enough for us to claim all three points. A good start for my first match in charge.
Goyang Hi F.C. v Daejon
We scored the first goal and the last goal. Sadly we let them score three goals in fourteen minutes just past the hour mark and that did us in.
Anyang v Goyang Hi F.C.
This was a very even match and was one that I really wanted to win. Jung Jong-Hyuk put us in front on the 70th minute. However we were unable to hold on and conceded in the 87th minute. The match finished 1-1 leaving us to rue the missed chances.
Goyang Hi FC v Police (KOR)
We went two up after just 11 minutes and I was quietly confident of a good result, even when we gave one goal back to go into half time up 2-1. We were not done with our acts of charity as Han Byung-Kwon scored his second to level the scores. This time it was our turn to grab a late winner as Brazilian Paulo Cesar scored the winner in the 85th minute.
Goyang Hi FC v Bucheon 1995
The final match saw us take on bottom placed Bucheon 1995 in a must win game for us. We played badly and if the opposition had been better we would been in the crap. Luckily they weren’t and we managed to grab a lucky goal on 81 minutes to take the lead. We couldn’t hold it and we ended up conceding in the 91st minute to drop two valuable points.
League Table
That four point gap just will not close and we are fast running out of games to make an impact.
Club Overview
Finally a quick peek at the club profile. One thing I notice about Korean cities is the contrast between man and nature. Alright enough of this, off we go to roll into the end of the season.
Upcoming Fixtures
Seven games to go and four points adrift. Can we close the gap? If we do we could easily finish higher than 8th. Tune in next update to find out.
