Pro Vercelli are set for a return to the top division of Italian football after a 96 year absence. Supporters have been eagerly waiting for this day and the vast responsibility on the shoulders of New Zealand born Mr BadDragon to keep them there will be the sternest test of his leadership to date.
There are some critics that have suggested that his decision to take over the running of the Greek U21 squad is blatantly irresponsible. Should results at Stadia Silvio Piola fail to live up to expectations the spotlight will be firmly on these extra circular activities.

We moved a large number of players out of the club. Pro Vercelli is no longer a holiday home for hangers on – only the good will last.
“Micci” was on loan for last season. I signed him on a free.
“Toso” is a Greek youth international who was formerly of AEK and Toulouse. He played 95 senior games and will be a valuable player in the engine room.
“Bernard” is an Italian left back who has traveled the world spending time in Austria, Greece and the Ukraine before returning home to Pro Vercelli.
Former Romanian U21 international was released by Liverpool. I had identified him as a potential future star so was quick to swoop in for him!
“Longo” has been added to increase our depth in the centre of the park.
“Goldfish was a youth prospect I noticed at Darmstadt. He was available on a free and I took a chance on him.
No surprises here – we have the lowest wage budget and thus the lowest value team.
We are hard working and good at passing, with good leadership. Technically we may struggle.
At goalkeeper we are well served, which is good because the keeper will get some work to do!
Defending is a worry as we will struggle in the air. Not ideal!
Our midfield looks solid, which is a plus.
However our finishing is the worst in the league. It could be a long season in front of goal.
While some would consider this to be a step up, I am committed to giving Pro Vercelli at least five seasons.
It is pleasing to get offered a new deal. Clearly the club believe that I have what it takes to take the club forward.
However I am open to international management. This is my first foray into this space and will require some thought on how I report this sub career.
We did not start well against Leverkusen and will have to improve in future matches.
Another 1-0 defeat, this time due to our poor finishing. It is taking time to bed the squad together into a cohesive unit.
Next up we faced Dynamo-2 Kiev who were a step down in terms of quality. This was a good chance to establish our patterns and we ran out comfortable winners.
Hoogstraten VV were next and this was a totally one sided affair. The score flattered them as we only converted 2 of our 38 shots on the day.
Once again our finishing lets us down in a match we could easily have won on another day.
A much better performance by the boys. We finally managed to find our shooting boots and looked good for the win.
We finished the preseason on a high note with a good win against AGS Asteras Tripolis. “Curlz” bagged a double and has secured a start alongside “Stan” in the opening game.
A good series of results. The four clean sheets are a nice highlight.
New season beckons
Tune in next time to see how we get on in the top flight of Italian football.
The season opens with a game against Latina in the TIM Cup, followed by a match-up against newly promoted Catania.
