Another solid series of results has seen BadDragons’s Pro Vercelli side climb to the top of the table. The Bianche Casacche have now strung a series of eight wins in a row to climb to the top of the table with just 11 games to play. The question is can they stay there?

These next four matches will reveal whether we have what it takes to mount a serious promotion challenge.
Game 800 for me in my career with take place when we host Crotone on the weekend.
Serie B Match 28/42 v Crotone
We are comfortable media favourites to make it five wins in a row. We can’t take this for granted however.
“Lapo” is back on the bench but needs time to get back into fitness. “Tito” is also back from suspension.
“Curlz” bags goal 17 as we take the lead which is well deserved. Certainly takes the pressure off.
Our second comes from a set piece. “Farina” rises high and heads the ball to “N.B.” who slams the ball home at the far post. 2-0 up and cruising.
“Zo” confirms his natural ability with a sublime finish from an impossible angle. That being said the keeper won’t be happy with is positioning. That is the final action for the half as we take a solid lead into the break.
“Curlz” is the provider with another lovely cross. “Roto” doesn’t miss with five star service and we make it four on the day.
Draws by both Catania and Bologna sees us go top of the pile. This is a surprise as those other sides were looking unbeatable just six weeks ago.
“Zo” picks up a PoM award on the back of a goal and two assists.
Serie B Match 29/42 v Fiorentina
This is the first of two difficult matches against chasing teams. I don’t want this to be a one week on top scenario.
Two unforced changes to the starting line up as both “Zo” and “Pizzo” are both sick. “Bong” is given another chance to impress following his red card last time out.
“Vags” makes the most of his recall to the starting lineup by scoring the opening goal.
“Vags” is making the most of his chance! Two good goals may be enough to keep him in the lineup. We take the 2-0 lead into the break and are looking good.
We had chances in the second spell but failed to convert. Final score 2-0 to Pro Vercelli, which means that with Catania and Bologna drawing moves us further ahead at the top.
This win brings the current win streak to six on the bounce. This was a good result against strong opposition.
We absolutely dominated this game and got a good result.
Serie B Match 30/42 v Pontedera
We can’t afford to take the foot off the gas here. We have a chance to deliver the unthinkable here and win the league.
“Pizzo” is back from illness and takes his place on the left. “Tito” is on for “N.B.” as I am rotating my defenders.
This is not the start we were looking for. Our defense is under early pressure.
The good news is we hit back immediately. “Vags” gets a touch to “Macho’s” strike and claims the goal. “Zo” must be looking on slightly worried at the form of “Vags”
“Bong” is not having a good game and lets in Rossi unopposed at the far post. He is hoked at half time as I rip into the boys and tell them I am not pleased.
“Lapo” has not had a great game, however his cross to “Vags” may have redeemed him. “Vags” has been a demon in front of goal and makes it nine for the season.
“Vags” has his hat-trick as once again “Lapo” delivers a great cross. That’s number ten for the season for the super sub.
It’s been one of those games, really. Our defense is opened up and De Nicola placed his shot magnificantly. All square to with 19 mins to play.
Who else but “Vags” to put us back in front! “Lapo” again down the left flank and a bobbling ball falls to “Vags” who applies the finish. That turns out to be the final act in a dramatic match.
What a game. The fact that they scored three goals with only four shots is a worry.
“Vags” has six goals in two starts. “Zo” will be struggling to get back into the side at this rate.
Serie B Match 31/42 v Verona
We go into the match against Verona as slight underdogs according to the popular media. Last meeting was a 3-1 victory and we have improved since then.
We make some changes due to fitness. “Digi” is in for “Macho” while “Bong” steps aside for “N.B.”. “Delle” gets a run in place of “Curlz” and “Zo” is back on the bench following his illness.
The game was a real arm-wrestle. We had chances but were wasteful and it took a mistake from a back pass in the 82nd minute for the first goal to be scored.
Once again we dominated the goal action but didn’t have a lot to show for it. Credit has to be given to their defense which kept us really quiet.
Once again we dominated the match but struggled to turn this domination into goals.
Another four wins on the bounce. That makes eight in a row, and that is how you win titles. Just how important will the Pontedera and Verona results be at the end of the season?
We have overtaken Catania thanks to them dropping points while we have managed to keep winning.
Our next four matches are important ones. Latina is the highest ranked opponent at 10th, so we should be expected to keep up the winning run.
