A slow start saw Pro Vercelli flirting with the relegation places. This struggle was short lived as the new signings to the club have started to deliver goals and the Bianche casacche find themselves in the top half of the table. It is early days but things appear to looking up for the club.

The season is upon us and we will soon find out how good we really are. Sit back and see how the season opens up!
Serie B Match 1/42 v Spezia
The opening match sees us on the road at Spezia Calcio in a match-up that will set the tone for the season to come.
One change to the starting lineup with “Roto” fit again, and set to make his debut in place of “Tomaz” who has looked a little average.
Both sides began well, and each had good chances. Pro Vercelli broke the deadlock on the half hour mark thanks to a Cardi own goal from a corner, and took a one goal lead into the break. Both “Roto” and “Macho” missed gilt edged chances and we should have been another two goals to the good after the break. Those missed chances looked costly as De Feudis bagged a late double to consign us to our first loss of the season.
We lost the game despite dominating for large parts. The lack of clinical finishing cost us points here, and we have a lot to do to be more ruthless in front of goal.
Serie B Match 2/42 v Modena
Our first home game sees us face Modena F.C. who have been knocking on the door of the top division. They have been up three times in the last dozen years, only to fall back immediately the the next season.
One change sees “Borto” replace “Pizzo” at fullback. I am giving “Curlz”, “Roto” and “Macho” a chance to redeem themselves up top.
The first half saw chances to both teams but no goals. Once again we had the better of the game but have nothing to show for it. In the end the game finished 0-0 which was a point but a disappointing point none the less.
Another game which we had the better of but our finishing let us down. It’s early days but this is a worrying development.
Serie B Match 3/42 v Teramo
We face up S.S. Teramo Calcio who currently sit in 8th spot. We need to bag a win from this match to get the season back on track. A loss would drop us into the relegation zone.
Two changes with “Pizzo” returning at right back and “Vags” on for “Macho”. “Roto” needs to get off the mark today as he is looking under pressure in training.
“Roto” opens the scoring in the first fifteen minutes to ease the pressure and give us the lead. We get lucky as they strike the post – still a narrow lead though we continue to miss chances. “Curlz” doubles our lead on the stroke of half time and we go into the break 2-0 to the good. From the restart “Roto” gets his second and makes it 3-0. With 15 mins to go Teramo pull back a goal and I satr to get concerned. “Macho” seals the result off the bench with eight mins to go. 4-1 and the points are ours!
Another game which we dominate, however this time the goals go in. A nice result which sees us sitting in the top half.
It is never easy as a new manager when the owners are looking like changing. This adds to pressure on our performance which we would rather not have to deal with right now.
“Vargs” was a key performer last time out. At this stage he is looking doubtful for the next match.
Serie B Match 4/42 v Salernitana
We host US Salernitana in the fourth match of the season. A win here will see us consolidate at the top end of the table. Salernitana currently sits in in fourth and are undefeated.
“Sadie” is dropped to the bench following an average game last time out. “Cosmo” comes in to midfield and “Lapo” drops back into fullback. “Vargs” as predicted is not fit and “Macho” returns to the starting line-up.
“Macho” justifies his inclusion with a goal after only five minutes. The rest of the first half yeilds a couple of chances but no goals. Still we take a lead into the break and are looking solid. On 70 minutes “Roto” bags a goal to double the lead and then with time almost up substitute “Zul” makes it 3-0.
Another dominant performance with the goals to back it up. I’m starting to feel confident here.
Two thumping wins in the last two matches has turned our form around. We had chances in the first two games but it took us a while to find our feet.
We are sitting top of eight teams on seven points. Modena has a game in hand so we could drop to fourth place.
Two away matches against the top two sides. This will be an indication of where we stand.
