201: Liverpool still in contention

27 November 2029
Liverpool, England

A series of bad injuries to three key players were not enough to dampen the spirits among the Liverpool faithful.  The Reds have notched up four wins in a row, including an important victory against Manchester United which sees Chelsea’s lead in the Premier League cut to just two points.

It will be a real test of character for the Reds as they have to battle through the next series of matches without “Mookee” and “Tan”, two key goal scorers for the team.

The injuries to “Mookee” and “Tan” are very frustrating as both players are key to how we play. While I have good understudies, the loss means that we will be stretched in key areas. The plus side is that it gives the backup players a real chance to stake their claim for consideration as the key matches roll around.

Blow by Blow

Capital One Cup Quarter Final Draw

There were easy sides to draw in this competition. Chelsea was not one of them. Still if we get past them then we won’t meet them in the final!

Premier League – Match 10/38

Arsenal are having a bad run this season and are ten points off the pace in 10th place.

We field a very strong side. “Diogo” gets another chance to impress on the left, while “Ingvar” has displaced “Lazer” following a string of good performances.

We put in a very solid performance that saw us cruise to a 3-0 lead. Unfortunately we let them in for a late goal, but it wasn’t enough to stop us taking all the points.

Injury Update

“Halo” picked up a knock, however it isn’t too bad and he won’t be out for too long.

Team News

It sounds more impressive than it is, given that we have drawn a bucket full of games.

Meanwhile, it would seem that there is money coming to the club. This could be interesting.

Champions League – Group B – Match 4/6

This match is the key one of the group. if we don’t win then the possibility of not qualifying could become a reality.

We have made some changes to the lineup as we attempt to keep key players fit.

We put in a good shift and won the match comfortably. “Mo” and “Naert” were outstanding today.

Champions League Results

Lokomotiv Moskou continued to impress with and have yet to lose a game in the group.

Marseille picked up a good win against Juventus.

Premier League – Match 11/38

Manchester United are up next. They haven’t been performing all that well this season and currently sit in fourth place.

“Halo” is not yet fully fit so in a surprise move “Goose” partners “Tan” in midfield. “Sindy” gets the nod at right back while “Diogo” starts on the left.

Well it wasn’t pretty, but it was effective. A lone “Mookee” goal was sufficient to take all three points.

Injury Update

This is annoying. “Tan” is a vital cog in the wheel and he will be missed. Hopefully “Goose” will be able to step up and fill his shoes.

Another niggle for us. Not quite so drastic as “Sindy” has become the first choice right back.

Finally a blow. “Mookee” is our top striker and was just starting to find form. Four weeks is a long time.

Premier League – Match 12/38

Southampton are holding the table up which is not a place they want to be. Sadly I don’t think I will assist them in their quest to escape.

We have a game every three days. The next game against Dortmund is important for the Champions League so I have to field a second string side for this match.

Considering the side we sent out this was a good victory. It keeps us in the hunt for the title.

Results Summary

A series of good victories sees us get four wins from four matches. We are still alive in all competitions.

League Table

Chelsea dropped points when they drew with Manchester City so the gap reduces to two points.

Champions League – Group B

The race is tight to qualify from this group. Our next match against Dortmund will be significant.
