Liverpool, England
Premier League favourites Liverpool have made a inconsistent start to their title defense. In some games they secure easy victories only to fall off the pace in other matches. This lack of consistency has the coaches bemused and it remains to be seen what they can do to reverse this trend.

Part of our problem is that we are failing to put away our chances, while giving up soft goals at key times. In some matches we look clinical and confident, while in others the players look unsure of themselves. The cause is not immediately obvious, however we just have to battle through the tough times.
Blow by Blow
Capital One Cup – 3rd Round
Wigan away on two days rest. Not an easy task at all.
We play a fully rotated side for this match. We still have a good side on the park however so we should do well.
Considering that we had a fully rotated side, a 2-0 win was satisfying. “Slalom”, “Hero” and “Oos” are struggling to score goals which is getting slightly concerning.
Capital One Cup – 4th Round Draw
Our next opponents in the Capital One Cup are Aston Villa. That is not a bad draw for us.
Premier League – Match 6/38
Hull City come to Anfield in 16th place and already flirting with relegation. This is a match which we need to win.
I am not sure who are my best front three this season so am looking to “Oos”, “Mookee”, and “Slalom” to put their hands up and demand consideration.
Well this was a great return to form for the team. “Mookee”, “Tan” and “Slalom” all delivered goals in a master class of finishing.
Champions League – Group B – Match 2/6
After the manhandling we received at the hands of Dortmund we need to turn things around and pick up a win.
Their narrow formation is a worry however we can’t panic yet. “Hero” is getting a trial on the left flank.
We failed to put the match to bed and paid the price when we conceded a late equaliser. Injuries messed up our team shape and we couldn’t find a way back.
Champions League Results
Anderlecht went down to PSV which was the only stand out result.
PSG thumped Valencia and Porto was thumped by Real Madrid.
Injury Update
We lost “Flavio” for a month with a gammy hammy. 15 year old “Mortier” has been called up to the first team squad as cover.
Premier League – Match 7/38
Newcastle are sitting in the Europa League spots and have been performing well. Chelsea have already played and sit five points clear at the moment.
Only one change from last time as “Stipe” comes in for the injured “Flavio”. “Hero” continues on the left flank.
We found the net five times. All were ruled off side. It was one of those games that we should have won comfortable, but just couldn’t get the result we wanted.
Results Summary
Undefeated but disappointed. We are making things tough for ourselves.
League Table
Sitting in second but four points off the pace. Much work to be done.
Champions League – Group B
Unusually we sit in last place in the group. We need to start winning.
Next Episode
The Chelsea match is a must win game for us, as is the Dundalk result.
