Liverpool Fans are on top of the world following their victory in the Premier League with four matches to go. The Reds have been in dominant form this season and it comes as no surprise that they were crowned winners.
The Liverpool performance is good for the game, as the league this century has been dominated by the red of United and the blue of Chelsea. Other teams have attempted to push their way through and have succeeded for the odd year before the establishment has reclaimed tops spot again.
It is refreshing to see a new contender emerging. Mr BadDragon is to be commended for his fine performance in turning the fortunes of the club around. In his four plus seasons with the team he has introduced a consistency to Liverpool’s performance that was lacking. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can rise to former glory or will this be a one season wonder.

Job One – Win the Title. Tick!
Actually despite the reports, the real story has been the performance in the Champions League. Taking a 2 goal lead into the second leg we were assaulted and were lucky to hang on. In the end we did enough to advance, despite losing on the night. This victory set up a match against Manchester United who we also managed to secure a narrow 2-1 away leg lead against.
Blow by Blow
Premier League – Match 32/38
Norwich City is the team sandwiched between the Champions League fixtures.
They get to face our ‘B’ team. I am looking to take the game to them despite fielding a fully rotated side.
The game was progressing well until “Stipe” got himself an early shower for a red card. Needless to say he is getting fined again as this is the second time he has been dismissed.
Champions League – Quarter Final – Leg 2
The return leg at Chelsea and I fully expect them to come at us early on. Last time we were in this position we crumbled. A year later, can we do better?
“Hero” is not back to full fitness, however he will get the start. This allows “Naert” to push to inside forward in place of “Oos” who has been off his game.
This was the hardest fought game of the season. Chelsea came out and took control of the match with an early goal. In the end we held onto the slender advantage and probably finished the stronger of the two sides.
Champions League Results
Anderlecht and Manchester United are through to the semi-finals.
Real Madrid defeats PSG to become the last member final four.
Champions League Semi-Final Draw
I think I would much rather face Manchester United over two legs than one, so this is a good draw for us. Still it will be a tough match, although we have the away match first which can be an advantage.
Premier League – Match 33/38
We need four points from our five remaining matches. Given that we have a +30 goal advantage in goal difference, a win here all but guarantees us the title.
With the Champions League semi final in four days time, we trot out the second squad again. “Stipe” is suspended, so young Austrian “Zirngast” gets the call up to make his senior debut.
I may have erred slightly in how I approached the game, although we should have been able to hang on to all three points. In the end we got one point so any slip up by United will be fatal.
Champions League – Semi Final – Leg 1
Old Trafford is a daunting place to play, especially against a United side which is in fine form.
I decide that the best plan is to field the side which played against Chelsea. “Naert” is preferred on the left.
I thought the Chelsea game was tense. This was a whole other level of stress. In the end we got the win, two away goals, and one step closer to a place in the final.
Champions League Results
Match one – Advantage Liverpool.
Match two – Advantage Real Madrid.
Premier League – Match 34/38
I am in two minds with this match. On one hand a win will see us champions so it makes sense to field a strong side. On the other we have leg two of the semi final to be fit for.
In the end I go for plan B and field a strong side which I hope will be good enough to get the job done.
We won the match which gave us the title. We made hard work of it giving up the lead twice before making it stick on the third occasion.
Premier League Champions
We did it! We broke the stranglehold that Chelsea and United have had on the competition. Its been a long time coming – 39 years in fact!
We have wrapped up the league, and are close to a Champions League final place as well.
The league is wrapped up. Now we just have to focus on the Champions League.
Only one match matters. The first one!
