167: Liverpool qualify top

15 December 2027
Liverpool, England

Liverpool emerge top out of a Group H. The ease with which they manhandled the defending champions was a big surprise and should bode well for the knock-out stages to come.

In the league they hit a bit of a rocky patch, and while they are five points better off than they were last season, the juggernaut that is Manchester United shows no sign of slowing down. It will be interesting how Mr BadDragon deals with this situation.

The loss to Fulham and draw to Norwich were disappointing results.  Our ability to create chances in those two games was lacking. I think the opponents may be defending deep and we are not able to break them down.

United are looking too strong and I think that we will have to settle for a top three place and Champions League Qualification again.

Blow by Blow

600 games. Has it been this long?

Premier League – Match 14/38

A visit to Craven Cottage and a Fulham side who find themselves sitting in mid-table.

“C.K.” and “”Lazar” are back from their rest, while “Naert” is back tomorrow. “The Greek” is almost back from injury but not considered for this match.

Talk about raining on the parade. We were awful and were lucky to score zero today. “Hero” had a shocker and “C.K.” was awful as well.

Premier League – Match 15/38

We need to come back after that disappointing result against Fulham when we stop in at Crystal Palace.

“Naert” is restored up top, and “Tan” is back at AM(C). “C.K.” is retained, hoever he moves to the left slot and “Trickles” moves into play-maker.

We turned things around from last match with a nice hat-trick by “Hero”. “Stipe” had a solid match again and is knocking on the door for the number one birth at left back.

F.A. Cup – 3rd Round Draw

This is a favourable draw and I would like to believe we can advance from here.

Champions League – Group H – Match 6/6

This match will determine the group winner, however I am not too fussed about where we finish. With that in mund I am weighing up resting a few first team players in preparation for the league match and capital one cup match which are coming up.

Definitely a second string line-up fielded today. All eyes are on “The Greek” who is back from injury.

We put in a good shift today, lead by “Naert” who bagged a hat-trick. The win sees us finish top of Group H.

Champions League Results

Nothing too much to note here. The usual suspects win – par for the course.

PSG pick up a win. Can we say it? Too little – too late!

Premier League – Match 16/38

Norwich are up next. Different opposition, same plan. Score goals and win!

“C.K.” has been under-performing of late so gets dropped to the bench in favour of “Halo”. “Vince” has been playing better than “Birigui” and gets the nod.

Once again we failed to get goals, despite having the better of the game. This poor run has cost us the title I fear.

Results Summary

Not our best four games.

League Table

United are running away with the title this year and show no sign of slowing down.
