Liverpool, England
Liverpool demolished Wrexham in the third round of the F.A. Cup and set new club and competition records in the process. The win set the tone for the next few matches as the Reds notched up four wins on the bounce.
The club also added an amazing signing as they managed to lure world class keeper “The Greek” away from Anderlecht on a Bosman. Anderlecht allowed him to leave early for 2.4 million.

I am pleased with the results and more importantly the manner of them. The most pleasing fact is that goals are coming from all over the park which means my attack is harder to shut down.
Blow by Blow
F.A. Cup – Third Round
This is the beauty of this competition where we get to travel to League 2 Wrexham for this third round tie.
I field a totally experimental line-up. This is made difficult by the fact that a lot of the players I want to give time to are off on international commitments. One player to watch is young “Skywalker” in goal. At 16 he is ranked as the 4th best keeper on the books and is being eyed up as a future first team star.
In the end we were just too strong for Wrexham and administered a good old fashioned beating with young “Halo” scoring four goals.
Team News
No surprises that records tumbled. It was that sore of game.
Transfer News
I had been chasing “The Greek” for two seasons, however Anderlecht would not negotiate. “The Greek” had expressed an interest in coming, and didn’t sign a next deal so I was able to buy him up on a Bosman. Anderlecht wanted 2.4 million to have him come now which I jumped at.
He is cup tied in the Champions League so will probably play as understudy to “Sim” for the first few matches.
Team News
I have no intention of jumping ship to United!
Always good to stay onside with your boss!
Premier League – Match 21/38
Next up we have Crystal Palace. They are languishing in the relegation zone and I don’t plan on being merciful.
“C.K.” is off on Australian duty for all of January so the team looks much the same as it did before. “The Greek” is on the bench for the first game and will rotate for the rest of this season.
Well that was comfortable. The highlight of the match was the sublime finish by “Naert” for our 4th goal.
F.A. Cup Draw
We get drawn against Burnley in round four of the F.A. Cup.
Premier League – Match 22/38
A visit to Reading is next up on the list of things to do. We need to keep our momentum up as we strive for another top three finish.
Two changes to the line-up with “Goose” replacing “Den” and “The Greek” making his debut in goal.
Once again we left some goals unscored however we always looked in control of this match.
“The Greek” showed why I was so keen to sign him with two magnificent saves.
Transfer Out
“Vo-Bo” was not kicking on and I have so many quality midfield players that he was never going to get game time.
Premier League – Match 23/38
Next up are Southampton who are really killing the league this season. Predicted to finish 18th, they currently sit in 8th place and have to be watched.
“The Greek” retains his spot while I try a few different roles in the formation. “Hero” is playing as a shadow striker in behind “Ostariz” as false 9.
Another good win. What is particularly pleasing is that the goals are coming from all over the team. We do need to address our poor shots on target ratio however.
Team News
“Naert” has been developing into a really good 2nd striker and I have decided that keeping him at the club happy was worth a small bump in wages.
Results Summary
Another perfect run of fixtures. All we can try and do is win every game we play – when it works it great!
League Table
We have second spot for now, however City do have a game in hand.
Next Episode
We have Burnley in the F.A.Cup, then Forest and Derby before the big game against Chelsea.
