Viv Raw’s Arsenal side once again stuck the knife into Liverpool’s Capital One Cup ambitions with a convincing victory. Both sides rested a number of players however the extra depth of the Arsenal side squad proved decisive.
Mr BadDragon was upbeat after his latest failure stating that of all of the competitions that his Liverpool side were in this season, the Capital One Cup was the least important.

I want to win every competition I enter, however Injuries have derailed our campaign and has forced me to prioritise which matches matter. Because we had back to back matches against Arsenal I was forced to choose. The Premier League is more important than the Capital One Cup which swayed the decision.
Blow by Blow
Premier League – Match 9/38
We need to pick up the win here as we can not afford to leave many more points on the table.
This is the line-up that my assistant recommended. I am reasonably happy with his thinking.
We got the result we needed although I would have liked to do better. Still a win is a win and three points banked.
Mr Yellow Card has done it again! Still he wasn’t going to be playing the next game anyhow so its not the end of the world.
Capital One Cup – 4th Round
Playing a side the size of Arsenal back to back can be tough. I have decided to rest most of my first team players for this match.
Definitely a second string side. I am hoping that a poor result will not dent morale to badly.
Well we put in a reasonably good shift and in the end lost what was an even match on the back of a couple of lucky goals. All things considered it is not the end of the world.
Premier League – Match 10/38
Back for the rematch and the game we really want to win. We have close to our full strength side on the park for this one.
No real surprises in the line-up. “Birigui” is preferred at right back for this key game.
Arsenal were lucky and were spared defeat by our inability to take the chances on offer. We made most of the running but failed to find the net.
This is frustrating with “J-Lal” only just back from injury.
Champions League – Group E – Match 4/6
We go into this match knowing that a win all but guarantees us top spot.
Only one change from the last match as “Den” comes in for the injured “J-Lal”.
Well it wasn’t pretty, but it was a win. The side is still not quite firing well and I am not sure that it will until “Tan” returns in a touch over three weeks time.
Champions League Results
No real surprises here. Bayern triumphed over Barcelona being the only major result of note.
Anderlecht fell to PSV while Fenerbahce continued to impress.
A win and a draw in the league which was passable. Not to worried about the Capital One Cup and pleased with Champions League results.
Sitting in 7th place which is ok. A series of wins will push us up the table and once again the board are only after Europa League so no real pressure..
Champions League – Group E
We are out of the group and almost guaranteed a top place finish.
Three winnable premier league games and what could be the decisive Champions League match-up.
