Liverpool is flying high in this seasons group of death in the Champions League. Having recorded wins over Real Madrid, A.C. Milan and Celtic the Reds look almost certain to advance to the knock-out stage of the competetion.
They have also seemed to have put the slightly lacklustre opening month behind them and if they can continue to wrack up the wins should move up the table.

Another good month for my side as we get three good wins. The nature of the loss to Chelsea was a huge disappointment but I am confident we will bounce back. The signing of “C.K.” will be a big boost to the club as it buys time to develop som of the youngsters who are coming through.
Blow by Blow
Champions League – Group E – Match 2/6
Another battle of European Giants takes place at Anfield. Real Madrid looked dominant against Celtic and we will need to play really well to get a result.
We have a bit of a makeshift midfield line-up today with “Vo-Bo” playing slightly out of position in the advanced play-maker role. “Halo” comes in due to being slightly fresher, and “Loz” is dropped due to poor form.
Well this game lived up to all the hype as we managed to come back from the brink. We were 2-1 down with 8 minutes remaining and late goals by “Naert” and “Hero” saw us get the win.
Champions League Results
Celtic held Milan to a draw, while Anderlecht carried on their winning ways.
Bayer’s defeat to Olympiakos is the stand out result of this round.
Premier League – Match 7/38
Defending champions Chelsea are next. Last season we did the double over them. Can we repeat that feat?
I tasked my assistant with the selection of the side and couldn’t fault his choice. “Goose” hasn’t played well in the advanced play-maker role this season.
Well this was a shocking result. Twice we let the opposition wide man through on goal unopposed. We were distinctly second best today.
Not much more to say really.
“Den” has picked up another injury. At 30 his time in a Liverpool shirt is drawing to an end.
We needed an additional Physio and this guy is reasonably good.
Another scout with South American connections.
Serbest comes in as I attempt to extend my Eastern European knowledge.
Continuing the raiding of Leverkusen’s scouting department meet Tomo Martinovic.
Breirstein is the next scout signed.
Muller rounds off the new intake of scouts.
The final staff signing is another coach for the first team.
In the big news of the episode I have managed to get my hands on one of my top former players in Australian defensive midfield player “C.K.”. He is a ready replacement for “Den” and will allow me to develop the younger players more fully before throwing them into the first team.
This is frustrating as “Ostariz” and “Hero” were starting to form a good partnership.
Premier League – Match 8/38
We need to bounce back from the disappointing Chelsea result.
We are fielding a very makeshift midfield today. I am not convinced that “Goose” at attacking midfield is the best option. We also come up against “Benny Jets” who scares the bejesus out of me!
It wasn’t pretty, but it was a good result. It was certainly better than defeat.
Champions League – Group E – Match 3/6
Next up we have Celtic in the Champions League. We know that a win in this game will keep us top of the group and go a long way to securing our progression.
With our injuries the squad is looking thin on the ground.
We put in a good showing and come away with a comfortable win. A nice double for”Hero” and a goal apiece for the centre backs did the business.
Champions League Results
Milan beat Real Madrid, while Anderlecht carried on their good run. Fenerbahce are looking strong as well.
United beat Juventus while Arsenal were surprisingly held to a draw.
Three wins out of four matches was a good return.
Champions League Group E
Liverpool is sitting comfortably on top of the group needing a point to guarantee passage to the knockout stages.
Although we are sitting in ninth place things are not looking too bad if we can string some wins together and accumulate points.
We have relegation candidate Aston Villa, along with an Arsenal double header and the Celtic in the Champions League.
