Unstoppable Anderlecht have qualified top of their group despite putting in a poor performance. Real Madrid will be looking back and wondering how it was that they managed to butcher that game.
It is results like that that has them bottom of group D and in danger of not playing any European football after Christmas.

Well what can I say? He was correct, yet somehow he overshadows the solid performance that out side put in. He also neglects the quality of the finish by “Trickles”, and the wonderful performance of “The Greek” who kept his 12th clean sheet in 18 games.
Blow by Blow
Jupiler Pro League – Match 12/30
Leuven have been performing well this season and find themselves mid-table.
“Xu” and “Lembi” rotate in for “Benny Jets” and “Mookee”. Young “Carlier” gets a spot on the bench as I evaluate whether he is ready for first team action.
We put in a nice tidy performance tonight to take all three points. A double for “Lembi” supplemented a nice goal for “Trickles” in our victory.
Young “Goose” is a future talent and it is good to tie him down for a couple more years.
It is good to have “James” back again.
The job merry-go-round begins. I would like this job, but the time is not right I fear. In the end I decided that Anderlecht is in a good space and it would be foolish to move.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 13/30
K.V. Kortrijk Voetbalt offer tough opposition, however we have to keep players fresh for Real Madrid midweek.
A solid rotation with “Moose” and “Goose” joining “Alex in the midfield. First choice strikers, with rookie “Carlier” in behind. “Jame” is back from injury, and the big gamble “S.V.H.” at right back. They attack down the left a lot so this represents a gamble.
We took a while to get going and were 1-0 down at the half hour mark. “Benny Jets” and “James” scored to give us the half time lead which we extended well int the end of the game.
“Messi” is my favourite young player I have brought in, and may well develop into a great player in a few years.
Champions League – Group D – Match 4/6
This is the big one for us. Win this and we are out of the group stage for the second year running.
“Trickles” and “Doctor” partner “C.K.” in the center midfield.
We made hard work of it and were definately second best for most of the game. “Trickles” produced that one key moment of brilliance that was the difference today.
We had to work for it, but we got there in the end.
Champions League Results
Not many high scoring matches this week. Dortmund beating Manchester United was the result of the day.
The defeat of Bayern Munchen at the hands of Marseille is a talking point. Sampdoria edged Manchester City and Schalke did the same to Barcelona.
Champions League Groups
The groups are starting to sort themselves out. There are a number of very big names who are in a world of hurt.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 14/30
Racking Club Genk were the toughest challenges last season and it is my desire to smash them! I am under no illusions that this challenge will be easy.
Pretty close to the ‘A’ team. “Rommel” and “Flavio” are selected at the back.
We did what we needed to do and came out fairly comfortable 3-0 winners against Genk. “Lembi” started to find form and banged in a good double.
I just happened to take a look at the SV Darmstadt 98 team which I got promoted from 3. Bundesliga two seasons ago. They are now sitting mid table in the Bundesliga, having finished second last season.
Another month of it being all green. I keep waiting for the shoe to drop, but somehow we manager to get the goals we need even when we play badly.
While our goal difference looks imposing, it is made to look more impressive by the fact that we have only conceded four goals in fourteen games.
Next episode will be a bumper issue with five games as we break the schedule up to finish cleanly at the end of December.
