31 December 2022
As 2022 draws to a close, Mr BadDragon can feel pleased with his achievements. His Anderlecht side is top of the division and has qualified for the knock out phase of the Champions League.
They have been drawn against Celtic in the firts knockout round. While it is not expected that they will progress too far in the competetion, they may be considered slight favourites to advance to the quarter finals.

Well here we are at the end on 2022, sitting in a good space. We have been performing well and I am quietly confident that we can push on.
We have been lucky with injury, and should this luck change, all bets are off! Still I will continue to play the hands I am dealt and worry about a crisis only when it develops.
Blow by Blow
Champions League Group C – Match 6/6
Final game of the group with the winner getting top seed. A draw would see us remain top on goal difference.
Once again we are long odds to get anything out of the match. Lets see if we can’t upset the apple cart!
The first team picks itself really. The only change is the return of “Munster” on the bench. “Rommel” gets the start due to his good form.
I want to see “Benny Jets” and “Lembi” add to their goal tallies today.
Well I am astounded! “Benny Jets” take a bow. What a fantastic time to bang in a hat-trick! We top the group undefeated.
I’d like to thank “Benny Jets” for the wonderful birthday present!
Final Group Standings
There are no easy teams left in this competition.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 17/30
Away at Charleroi today, with a run of seven clean sheets in the league.
Same starting XI with a couple of tweaks on the bench due to the home-grown requirements.
Clean sheet number eight for us, and another win. “Benny Jets” scores his 19th goal for the season.
Alex out for a week with a gashed leg. Not a bad knock so all is good.
Champions League Draw
Of all the teams to draw, Celtic are not all that bad. I fancy my chances.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 18/30
We owe these boys after our cup exit. Time for payback.
“Moose” comes in for the injured “Alex”, while “Mookee” is back on the bench following an extended vacation on international duty.
We exercised some good control and should perhaps had more than two goals. Still its another win, and our 9th consecutive clean sheet in the league.
Doctor out for the next match. Slightly disappointing but we have cover.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 19/30
Genk are on a different level, and should a more difficult challenge.
“Andre” comes in for the injured “Doctor” as the only change to our starting line up.
Our run of clean sheets was ended at nine. We were undefeated thanks to a very late goal by “Benny Jets” and a penalty miss by Genk.
We lose number one left back “Andre” for 4 to 5 weeks with a bung peg. Luckily we still have “Murua” in the reserves who we can call on as cover. I plan on “Flavio” as much game time as possible, however.
Jupiler Pro League – Match 20/30
Club Brugge were early front runners have fallen off the pace slightly in the last month. They will still be a formidable challenge for us.
Only two changes to the starting line up with “Flavio” in at left back and “Cup” replacing “Rommel”.
“Benny Jets” bagged a double as we took control of the match. “Benny Jets” has now scored 22 goals from 24 starts in all competitions.
Another good months effort, with 10 league points plus top spot in the Champions League.
Six points clear at the top of the table with a game in had over Genk.
January sees us have a few friendlies with the Standard Liege game in the middle.
